Twenty-two members of the Four Seasons Garden Club of Isanti County visited the gift shop at Pinestead Tree Farms on Monday, Nov. 14 to learn some of the techniques for handmade wreaths used by Helen Hartley, co-owner of Pinestead Tree Farms.
“I believe the number one secret is having fresh greens,” Helen said. “I send the guys out to the fields almost daily for Balsam Fir and Fraser Fir clippings.”
Helen then uses them to make wreaths that range in size from about 18 inches to up to eight feet.
“The members are having a great time making wreaths with Helen,” said Club President Wayne Hass. “What is so neat is that each wreath is unique in its own special way.”
