Eileen Lindblad, of Santa Monica, Calif. and a native of Braham, Minn., died October 14, 2011 in Santa Monica, Calif. after several months of failing health.
She was born in 1923, the daughter of the late Nettie and Clarence Lindblad of rural Braham, and graduated from Braham High School and the University of Minnesota. Her professional career was spent as a social worker in program development, primarily for the national YWCA in Chicago and Eugene, Ore., and for the Los Angeles California County Department of Social Services.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Nancy Lindblad of Blair, Neb., niece Dinah Friedman of Kansas City, Mo., nephews Dan Lindblad of Omaha, Neb. and Alan Lindblad of Minneapolis, and two grand-nieces and two grand-nephews. A private family service with scattering of her remains at sea was held in Malibu, Calif.
