Dorretta Jean Davis was born July 30, 1954 in Cambridge, Minn. to Wilmer and Marge (Bushey) Davis. She was raised in Bethel and attended Bethel Elementary School and St. Francis High School. Dorretta lived most of her life in Bethel and recently moved to Ham Lake to live with her son, Shaun. She was a very hard worker and a jack of all trades. Dorretta especially loved working with people. Her family was her life and she especially loved time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins.
Dorretta will be lovingly remembered by her three sons; Tom (Celine) Woods Jr. of Mora, Braun (Rochelle) Woods of Blaine, Shaun Woods of Ham Lake; three brothers, Wayne (Lorretta) Bushey of Ham Lake, Billy (Teri) Bushey of Brooklyn Center, Terry (Emily) Bushey of Minneapolis; three sisters, Sharon Carpenter of Cambridge, Vicky Johnson of Cambridge, Marcy (Russ) Laidlaw of Texas; 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Codey, Lindsay, Kaden, Austen, Andrew, Riley, Makailah, Jaiddyn, Brett and Lexi; by her significant other, Paul Smith of Santee, California; and by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer II and Marge Davis, and by four siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. also on Wednesday. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Smith, Mike Raczkowski and Wayne Bushey. Pallbearers were Terry Davis, Billy Davis, Jason Hough, Scott Geving, Ethan Randall and Tom Woods Sr. Interment is in Old Bethel Cemetery.
