Quilt Bingo event a success

Dear Editor:

Fish Lake Lutheran Church would like to thank the community for their support of the Quilt Bingo event. We had 134 people playing Quilt Bingo, gave away 24 quilts and 14 door prizes—all handcrafted, and $1,000 was raised for the Refuge Network. A donation will be made to Habitat for Humanity East Central Office and proceeds from the lunch will be included in our monthly donation to our local food shelves in North Branch and Cambridge.

Those are the numbers for the year, but what most people do not see is the very generous community in which we live.  We want to thank our business sponsors, our members/friends for donating quilts and handcrafted door prizes, and our congregation for their support in making this annual event so successful. We have many people donating their time, fabrics, patterns, and quilting skills for us to use for our mission projects throughout the year.

The 1st Wednesday of each month is set aside for quilting in our Fellowship Hall and invite anyone interested in working with us to come at 9 a.m., stay for our morning coffee break, potluck lunch and our meeting in the afternoon. If you are unable to attend but would like to participate, let us know, as we have project kits available that can be done in your home. Thank you from Fish Lake Lutheran WELCA.
