Owls split series with Crusaders
The Minnesota Owls secured a split with Hudson with a 5-3 road victory Oct. 8. Taylor Bargar and Robert Erickson scored goals which had the game tied in the second and third periods., The Owls took over with goals netted by Sheldon Kihle and Blake Jorenby late in the third.
Brad Jerzewski was instrumental in making key saves at the end of the game on a 6-on-4 penalty kill. He faced 37 shots, making 34 saves.
On Friday night, the Owls trailed the Crusaders 2-0 early until Kyle Johnson scored at 6:15 in the second period. The Owls’ Robert Erickson and Jacob Melwitz delivered to tie the game until the Crusaders won it with a final goal at 10:48 in the third.
Upcoming Games: The Owls next home games are Friday, Oct. 14 against the Edina Lakers and Saturday, Oct. 15 against the league-leading Dells Ducks. Both games are at 7:30 p.m. Come out both nights and show these teams why we have the best fans in the league.
• The Owls are also planning a Cancer Awareness evening as part of Cancer Awareness month on Friday, Oct. 21 when they once again host the Lakers. All players will be wearing pink jerseys during the game that will be part of a silent auction, with proceeds going to charity. All winners will be announced at the conclusion of the game.
