Braham Community Ed classes now taking registration

Oil Painting Class 

Caroline Parson, 25+ years painting and teaching experience In this class, you will learn the basics of oil painting including: style, color, and landscape. Each student will enjoy painting a beautiful 14×18” winter scene of an old barn, chicken coop, trees and fence. Students of all experience levels welcome. You may choose to bring a snack for this three-hour class. (Must be at least 16.) A list of materials will be sent to you.

Registration due by Thursday, Oct. 20.

Classes begin Thursdays. Oct. 27 thru Dec. 15 (no class 11/17, 11/24), 6 to 9 p.m., BAHS- Rm. D114, $30/6 wks.

Intro to Couponing

Want to save 50 to 60 percent on your grocery bill each week? If so, join on Monday, Oct. 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Braham Area High School as they present the Basics to Couponing. Kristi Ostlund and Jennifer Wilson, creators definitelydeals@gmail.com  will be teaching this seminar. They will cover organization, where to get coupons, and how to use them most effectively. They will then show you how to save big at local stores including Target, Walmart and Walgreens.

A registration fee of $10 with registration information is due by Monday, Oct. 17. You will leave with great resources to help you find additional coupons, deals, rebates and more.

“Follow the Bone” Deer Cutting Course

Are you tired of paying deer processing fees or looking for some great ways to cook mouthwatering venison? If so, this class is for you. Kerry Swendsen, Deer Dummy Staff, will be teaching this course on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Braham Area High School. This course if being offered through the Braham Area Community Ed.

You will be taught the basic skills necessary to care for your own deer. You will learn field dressing, skinning and cleaning of the carcass. Including cutting of the deer- from pulling back straps for chops, to the hind for roasts and jerky and trim for ground venison to sausage. New this year, you will learn about the thyroid glands of a deer and how to remove them for the concern of CWD. You will learn some new ways to cook the perfect venison dinner. Keep the family tradition of hunting and cooking going by bringing your significant other, friend, son or daughter-ages 12 and up. Registration of $39 is due by Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Special Note: With every paid registration, you are allowed to bring 1 guest for free. Please make note of your guest when registering. There will be a free deer cutting reference guide available for you to take home.
