Bomber Volleyball 4th at own invite

Braham went 2-2 to take 4th at its annual Bomber Invite on Saturday, Oct. 8. In the 3rd-place match, rival Rush City got past the Bombers 27-25, 21-25, 15-10.

In that match, Becca Dahlman posted 11 kills, 11/11 serve receives to target and 3 ace blocks. Kayla White went 18/18 on serves with 4 aces, and Briana Richmond led with 18 assists.

In the tourney opener, Albany defeated Braham 25-9, 25-19 as Dahlman had 8 kills and Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow had 4 kills. Albany went on to place 2nd in the invite to St. Cloud Apollo.

The Bombers rebounded with a 25-19, 26-24 sweep of  Pine City with Dahlman knocking down 8 kills and Sorenson-Giffrow pounding 3 aces serves. Braham kept rolling with a 25-16, 25-22 sweep of Princeton where Dahlman recorded 5 ace blocks to go with 8 kills. Kayla Nickles had 8 digs, and Richmond 13 assists.

 

• On Oct. 6, Braham improved to 5-0 in the GRC with a 25-20, 13-25, 25-14, 25-11 victory at Ogilvie. Sorenson-Giffrow led the way with 11 kills and 11 digs. Sara Tomlinson added 8 kills and 2 aces serves, with White working for 9 digs. Amanda Sybrant helped with 4 kills.

• Braham stayed with GRC leader Rush City by sweeping Hinckley Oct. 11: 25-7, 25-22, 25-17. The Bombers host the Tigers Oct. 18. On Oct. 10, it was Barnum working past Braham 25-21, 25-19, 14-25, 28-25, 15-11.
