Braham clinched at least a share of the GPFA Blue Conference title by running past visiting Crosby-Ironton 49-16 Oct. 7.
Tyler Vaughan scored touchdowns on runs of 34 and 55 yards, plus he returned an interception 63 yards and a fumble 47 yards for two more TDs. Nick Mattson (12-yard reception), Cory Ambrose (5-yard run and 4-yard reception) also scored touchdowns in the rout.
Vaughan led the offense with 144 yards on the ground and 107 passing yards on 8-for-9 throwing. Cameron Braund paced the defense with 13.5 tackles.
“Offensively we continue to make big plays, and defensively our front four played extremely well, which in turn led to two defensive scores,” said Coach Shawn Kuhnke.
The Bombers, ranked 6th in Class A, will get a great playoff-honing game when they travel to Moose Lake this Thursday to face the Rebels, ranked No. 2 in Class AA.
“Moose Lake-Willow River is very good! I have watched a lot of game film during my coaching career, and I have not seen a combination of three runningbacks as good as MLWR has,” scouted Coach Kuhnke. “Those three have the ability to take it to the house on any given play. Fast, quick, elusive and powerful would about summarize not only their three runningbacks, but their entire team.”
