Lavonne Betty Bowker

Lavonne Betty Bowker, 66, of Isanti, passed away Thursday,  October 6, 2011 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. 

Lavonne was born March 1, 1945 in Minneapolis to Stanley and Beatrice Wiezycki of Linwood, Minn.

She was the oldest of seven children and graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1962. After graduation Lavonne moved from Linwood to Minneapolis where she worked as a switchboard operator for “Ma Bell” before she met and married Robert Bowker Sr. in 1966.  Bob and Lavonne moved to Cambridge in 1969 and together had two children, Robert Jr. and Kimberlee.

While raising her children, Lavonne worked a variety of part-time jobs in the Cambridge area. Her favorite being her job at Wardens Superette, where she befriended many people of  the Cambridge community. Lavonne took great pride in her children, volunteering her time in whatever activities they were involved in, including being a longtime “Den Mother” for Rob’s Boy Scout troop and being a helper in the Cambridge Schools.

Lavonne loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her three grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, crocheting and volunteering in her church.

Lavonne is survived by her son, Rob (Kim) Bowker of Cambridge, her daughter, Kimberlee Bowker of Forest Lake. Her Grandchildren; Taylor, Christian and Kayla. Her brothers, Stan Wiezycki, Don Wiezycki, brother in-law, Mike Eng and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, Isanti.
