Fall family fun in the “Fairy Tale Land”
Ongoing, October: Your family will love the annual indoor straw maze at the Green Barn Garden Center ($2.50 per person any age, under 2 free) open daily. Items are found throughout the fairy tale maze to claim a prize at the end. Kids will love to play in the corn kernel pit “Under The SEED” ($1.50 per person. Must be at least 2 yrs). Legion Broasted Pork Chop Dinner
Friday, Oct. 7: The Cambridge American Legion Howard McCarty Post 290 will be serving a “Broasted Pork Chop” dinner the first Friday of each month at the upper level of the Legion from 5:00 p.m.-whenever all pork chops are sold out. The first dinner will be served on Friday, Oct. 7. Cost of the dinner is $8. The Legion is also serving a “Broasted Chicken” dinner each third Friday of the month from 5 p.m.-whenever the chicken is sold out. The first chicken dinner will be Oct. 21. The Legion also will be serving their meatball dinner on the second Tuesday of each month from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $5.
Friday, Oct. 7: A Spaghetti Dinner at Long Lake Lutheran Church, Hwy. 47 & 277th Ave., Isanti, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Adults: $5; Ages 6-12: $3; and under 6 free. Includes spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and beverage for one low price.

Blessing of the Animals Ceremony
Sunday, Oct. 9: In honor of the Feast of St. Francis, the Isanti County Humane Society is hosting a Blessing of the Animals Ceremony at noon in front of Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge. You are invited to come and bring your pet(s). All animals must be under control of the owner and safe to be around. If you are unable to bring your animal, an article representing them (picture, collar, toy, halter, etc.) can be blessed on their behalf. If possible, bring an unopened small bag or can of animal food for the local food shelf.
K.C.’s Pancake Breakfast for Refuge
Sunday, Oct. 9: The Cambridge Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 12813 will be serving a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.-noon at the Catholic Parish Hall. The breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and milk. Cost will be $6 for adults, $3 for children with five and under eating free. All the proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Refuge Network.

Hayride to benefit local food pantry
Sunday, Oct. 16: A hayride for the Family Pathways Food Pantry in Cambridge will be held at the Bloomgren Farm, 2675 337th Ave NE, just north of Cub Foods in Cambridge. The event will be held from 1-5 p.m. They will have a petting zoo and face painting from 1-4 p.m., and live music from 2-3 p.m. Cookies, bars and hot apple cider will be provided. The event is a food drive, so bring non-perishable food items with you.
