For several years Eldora owned and operated the R Owen Place Bar in Rothchild, Wis. While employed by Graebel Van Lines she was transferred to Colorado. Mike and Eldora were married in Colorado. In 1999 they moved to Isanti, Minn. and resided until 2005 when they moved to Hartland, Wis.
Eldora will be remembered for her love of the birds, especially the hummingbirds, and would faithfully feed all that visited their home. She loved to read and would sit outside in the sunshine with her dog, Misty, and then Pepper. Numbers came easy to Eldora. She was good with accounting and balancing finances. Even with her wheelchair confinement, she never considered herself “handicapped.” She always had the inner spirit to do whatever and make it happen with her strong-willed personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Stella Ninnemann, and her sister, Virginia Ninnemann. She was the beloved wife, and best friend, of Michael for 15 years. She was also a dear stepmother of four stepchildren: MaryLou (Dave) Crook from New Hampshire; AnnMarie (Ken) Arner from Pennsylvania; Michael (Katrina) LaVallo from New Hampshire and Cassandra Welcome from Massachusetts. Eldora was also stepgrandmother to: Jayme, Dalton, Dallas, Sabrina, Danny, Makala, Nichole, Amber, Daren, Judy, Austin, Kylie, Samantha and Jesica. She was the loved niece of Arlene Gritzmaker, Marie Pagol, Jim (Barbara) Pagol and Ruth Reinik. She was further loved by cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial service for Eldora Welcome will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Oxlip Evangelical Free Church, 4770 Co. Rd. 5 NW, Isanti, MN 55040. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
