Melanie Kay (Johnson) Anderson, 59, of Dripping Springs, Texas, died September 14, 2011, after a 4 month ordeal of problems and diagnosis of cancer, at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House.
Melanie was born Jan. 25, 1952 and raised in Minneapolis, and graduated from North High School. She was employed by the New York Life Insurance Company after high school until 1976. She then resided in Palm Bay, Fla., before moving to Texas in 1993. Melanie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker until her passing.
She was one of two children born to the late Benny and Alzina Johnson. Melanie will forever be remembered by her husband of 35 years, Bruce Anderson; son, Nathan Anderson; step-children, Brandt Anderson and Nichole (Robert) Mirabal; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Anderson; grandchildren, Christina Delella and Robert Mirabal; brother, Michael (Kathy) Johnson and countless other family and friends who were blessed to know her. Melanie loved collecting music, bluebonnet collectables, travel and dining, love and care of family pets, being with family and having fun with friends.
Melanie touched the lives of many people around the world with her caring and generous nature, corresponding in her beautiful and unique handwriting, and maintained long-term friendships to the end.
A memorial service will be at Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel, 1385 107th Ave. NE, Blaine, Minn., on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be sent to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78759.
