Jacket boys CC wins at Mora run

The Cambridge-Isanti boys cross country team ran to victory at the Sept. 13 Mora Invite by posting a season-low 36 points. Great pack running led the way again as the Jackets held off Mora (ranked 9th in Class A) by nine points.

Pacing the team were Jordan Kalk in 4th (17:51), Kyle McCormick in 5th (17:54) and Sam Renier finishing 6th (17:55). Following those three were Trevor Galligan (8th, 18:00), Alex Mendietta (13th, 18:18), James Edstrom (17th, 18:28) and Anthony Mendietta (18th, 18:31).

The Bluejacket girls saw their pack times tighten nicely when they finished 5th with 98 points at Mora. The Mustangs won the meet with 47 points, followed by Becker at 63.

Paige Muehlhauser placed 15th at 17:25 to lead C-I. Right behind her were Alex Nelson (19th, 17:35), Erica Young (21st, 17:38), Maddie Oullette (21st, 18:13), Taylor Oullette (40th, 18:39), and Amy Head (41st, 18:40).

Also at Mora, the Jacket JV boys recorded a perfect 15 team score, placing 11 out of the top 15. Dylan Korta placed 1st for the Jackets.

• On Sept. 15, the Bluejacket boys placed 3rd and the girls were 7th at the 10-team St. Francis Invite.
