Anderson Park National Public Lands Day Celebration

Saturday, Sept. 24: The public is invited to enjoy Anderson Park National Lands Day celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Schedule of activities: 9–10:30: Volunteer – help landscape the park entrance; 10:30–11:30: Live Amphibian & Reptile Program; 10:30–noon: Hay Rides; 11:30–1: Free Apple Pie and Ice Cream. Fall Poultry Sale

Saturday, Sept. 24: The fall poultry sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Isanti County Fairgrounds—Poultry Barn, 3101 Hwy. 95 NE, Cambridge. $5 entry fee for sellers; no entry fee for buyers. Requirements: Poultry must be 5 months of age or older. Pullorum paperwork required. Pullorum testing available on site for $1/bird. Turkeys cannot be tested on site. Questions? Community invited to free luncheon in Grandy

River Valley Christian Church invites the community to join them for a free lunch of BBQ pork, chips, beans, dessert and lemonade following their church service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Legion Broasted Pork Chop Dinner

Friday, Oct. 7: The Cambridge American Legion Howard McCarty Post 290 will be serving a “Broasted Pork Chop” dinner the first Friday of each month at the upper level of the Legion from 5 p.m.-whenever all pork chops are sold out. The first dinner will be served on Friday, Oct. 7. Cost of the dinner is $8. The Legion is also serving a “Broasted Chicken” dinner each third Friday of the month from 5 p.m.-whenever the chicken is sold out. The first chicken dinner will be Oct. 21. The Legion also will be serving their meatball dinner on the second Tuesday of each month from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $5.
