Quilt Bingo at Fish Lake Lutheran

All are invited to play Quilt Bingo at Fish Lake Lutheran Church on Saturday, Sept. 17, sponsored by the Women of Fish Lake. A $5 light lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and bingo starts at 1 p.m. Bingo cards can be purchased beginning at 12:30 p.m. at several different prices.

This year there will be 25 quilts for bingo in a variety of sizes, colors and designs — all sewn with loving care by women who are passionate about their craft, and all giving warmth and comfort to the recipient. There will be additional handmade items for drawings and door prizes throughout the afternoon.

Proceeds will be shared with our local food shelves, The Refuge shelter for women, and Habitat for Humanity. Fish Lake Lutheran Church is located in Harris, Minn. Kids’ Carnival in North Branch

The 13th annual North Branch Community Kids’ Carnival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Park in North Branch.

Kids and their families will enjoy a day of fun with plenty of activities including games and prizes, a dunk tank, free food, petting zoo, music, face painting and much more. Members of the North Branch police and fire departments will be present and a fire truck will be on location. Drawings and prizes will occur throughout the event, with the Grand Prize being a $100 gift certificate.

The Kids’ Carnival is a free event for area kids in grade six and under. It is sponsored by Living Branch Lutheran Church and supported by many area businesses.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Fall Festival Sept. 18

Sacred Heart Catholic Church is having a Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited to join for a fun day at 415 W. 5th St. in Rush City, Minn.

The Liturgical Celebration will start at 9 a.m. with Bishop Lee Piche presiding. They will serve Brass Rail chicken with all the fixings from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be many fun activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., which will include many children’s and adult games, live music, silent auction items and a raffle which includes five great items: Flat screen TV, Wii Game System, $300 cash, Kindle and $100 gift card from Chilson Jewelers. Tickets are available at the Sacred Heart Parish House (Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) or at Fabric, Fashions, and More, 485 S. Dana Ave., in Rush City.

Spelmanslag: Swedish fiddlers at Salem Lutheran Church

You are invited to come to hear “Spelmanslag,” a group of Swedish fiddlers from the Swedish Institute in Minneapolis on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m. during Salem’s Harvest Festival.

Dressed in traditional Swedish clothing, this is an amazing group of musicians. If you haven’t heard them, get ready for a real musical treat! There will be a free will offering that night and pie and refreshments afterwards.

The Harvest Festival offering will go to support local food shelves and other missions. You are invited to bring a non-perishable food item that night for local food shelves.

Turkey Dinner at Freshwaters United Methodist

Freshwaters United Methodist Community will host a Turkey Dinner and Silent Auction on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Brook Campus, 6823-305th Ave. N.W., Princeton.

The cost of the dinner, which includes homemade pie, is $8 for adults, $6 for youth (6-11), and children under 5 free.
