Although it’s only September, plans for the 15th Annual Snowflake Parade are underway.
Did you know that a small committee of four local women puts together this event for the community each year, and the parade expenses have been covered for the past three years by business donations and proceeds from the Community Chili Feed? For the first time in our history, last year’s Chili Feed lost money and our expense account won’t cover this year’s event.
So, we’re asking for your help. If you’ve enjoyed the Snowflake Parade and would like to help us out, we are accepting donations of any amount. It is not a super expensive event because of the many volunteers who donate their time to make it happen — we can pay all of our bills for less than $1,500.
We are also adding an optional $10 entry fee for parade registrations. Every year, we have enthusiastic groups and businesses who put together beautiful entries for the enjoyment of our parade-goers. We appreciate them and want to include everyone, whether they choose to pay the fee or not, and are trusting that the generosity of our community, businesses, and participants will keep the Snowflake Parade going strong for many years to come.
