Free Community Dinner
Thursday, Sept. 15: A free Community Dinner will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Use the downstairs entrance. Everyone is welcome to join for a time of fellowship and a meal. Call the church office at 763-444-9201 with questions.
Isanti VFW Pig Roast Fundraiser
Saturday, Sept. 17: The Isanti VFW #2735 Men’s Auxiliary Fundraiser Pig Roast will be held at 4:30 p.m. $7 per person, and All-U-Can-Eat. The VFW is located at 410 Railroad Ave. So., Isanti, and can be reached at 763-444-9787.
Minnesota Owls Hockey Opener
Saturday, Sept. 17: The community is invited to a tailgate party for the Minnesota Owls Hockey Team in honor of its home opener at the Isanti Ice Arena. The tailgate party starts at 4 p.m. with player autographs, free food, prize drawings, kids activities and live music by the band Cloud 10. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
Fundraiser for The ABC Theatre Company
Saturday, Sept. 17: A taco/fajita bar will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spectacular Events Banquet Center in Isanti. Cost is $8, with proceeds benefitting The ABC Theatre Company, which is producing The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to be performed Oct. 27, 28 and 29.
Cambridge Drift Dusters Open House
Saturday, Sept. 17: From 4 to 6 p.m., the public is invited to attend the open house for the Cambridge Drift Dusters, a family-oriented snowmobile club serving the Cambridge and Isanti area. It are a nonprofit organization made up of volunteers who are dedicated to improving and maintaining the Isanti County Snowmobile Trail System as well as educating the public on snowmobile safety. Hot dogs and beverages will be served and guests can come see the club house.
Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting
Wednesday, Sept. 21: Parkinson’s Support Group will hold their regular monthly meeting from 10-11:30 a.m., at Grace Pointe Crossing (formerly Grandview), 1545 River Hills Parkway, Cambridge. Mary Martin, RN, PN, will be the guest of the morning. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, friends, and caregivers are invited to attend.
Buds, Suds & Vino 2011
Friday, Sept. 23: Enjoy tasting a wide variety of wines, beers and (new this year) cordials as well as spectacular hors d’oeuvres while visiting with old friends and meeting news ones from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spectacular Events Banquet Center in Isanti. There will be door prizes and a silent auction. Tickets for $20 are available at Isanti Chamber and Isanti Liquor.
