Bluejacket V-ball 5th on Litchfield nets

Cambridge-Isanti volleyball went 2-2 to place 5th at the Sept. 10 Litchfield Invitational. The Bluejackets posted wins over Annandale (25-19, 25-18) in pool play and Little Falls (25-19, 18-25, 15-8) in the 5th-place match.

Defeating the C-I girls were Sartell (25-22, 25-22) and eventual champ Dassel-Cokato (25-22, 25-10). Bluejacket leaders in the tourney were Julia Walfoort (23 kills), Kylie Baas (55 assists), Katelyn Torgerson (25 digs) and Madison Hedberg (25 digs).

On Sept. 8, host Rogers got past Cambridge-Isanti in the Mississippi 8 opener: 25-23, 16-25, 25-22, 25–19. Korbyn Felde led the Jackets with 26 digs, with Hedberg getting dirty on 25 digs. Walfoort knocked down 19 kills and added 4 blocks.

C-I beats Chisago Lakes

On Sept. 13, the Bluejackets swept host Chisago Lakes 3-0, raising their record to 5-4 on the season. The Jackets host Becker Sept. 15 in their second Mississippi 8 match, then they have a rescheduled home match with Coon Rapids on Monday, Sept. 19.

RUSH CITY SWEEPS BOMBER V-BALL

Defending GRC volleyball champ Rush City came out strong with a Sept. 13 sweep of Braham: 26-24, 25-12, 25-19. The Bombers are now 1-1 in the conference and 3-3 overall.

Last Saturday, Braham went 1-2 at the Pine City Invite. The team began with a 19-25, 26-24, 15-13 loss to East Central, then defeated Zimmerman 20-25, 25-13, 15-11. The final match was a 25-19, 25-21 loss to Luck, WI.
