The Refuge’s ‘Domestic Violence is Real’ presentation features guest speakers

The Refuge Network presents ‘Domestic Violence is Real’ on Sept. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch and Sept. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora.

Dinner will be served, and the evenings’ highlights include:

• Dody Johnson, local author “Surviving Child Abuse.”

• Chief Deputy Bob Jensen, Kanabec County Sheriff’s Department and  Criminal Investigator Justin Wood, Chisago County Sheriff’s Department “Responding to a Domestic Violence Homicide.”

• A Survivor, “Just Barely Escaping Death: Surviving Domestic Violence.”

• Video of The Refuge Network’s Black Dog Hill Shelter.

• The Launch of the R500.
