It is time again to let Isanti Diners that meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Isanti Community Center at 11 a.m. to enjoy time with fellow diners to see what the forecast will be for their monthly schedule for September. Unlike the weather forecasts this forecast for September does not change. Well, occasionally that might happen, but not likely.
Weather forecasters usually start telling us about today, tomorrow, yesterday, or maybe a year ago, but I will just clue you into what happened in August that gave us a good time together: we enjoyed Jorge Watson, with the C. Bones help as he played his guitar, showed some pictures on large screen of event or two in Isanti, and words to songs so we could sing together.
Another great time together was the chance from the Carlsons to see their historical RR “work” car and tell us about the tours they take with others that also own one of these ancient cars. They travel the rails in their air open cars. They showed pictures of their tour thru Mexico where part of it was traveling thru 99 tunnels. Thanks to Don and LuAnn Carlson for this interesting presentation.
Now for the September forecast: May you all enjoy Labor Day and safety if traveling.
Wed. Sept. 7: Jorge Watson will return. We will look forward to him, his helper, and also it is the Pie of the Month Day which will be sweet potato pie.
Mon. Sept. 12: Education Day 11:15 a.m. Also Angie Swenson for Blood Pressure.
Wed. Sept. 14: LuAnn Carlson with “Rugs with Rags.”
Mon. Sept. 19: Bingo at 11 a.m.
Wed. Sept. 21: Celebrate Grandparents Day. Tell us or show us things regarding you as a grandparent or what you enjoyed with your grandparents. Grandma’s Blueberry Crumb Cake dessert today.
Mon. Sept. 26 and Wed. Sept. 28: Bingo at 11 a.m.
There is no charge for Bingo and you can choose your prize from the Bingo Treat Tray. Please remember to register in advance for your meals. Until further notice, please call Cambridge for Isanti registration or sign up at the site. (Cambridge: 763-689-4691— the cook needs to know in advance, so please do not wait until last minute.)
Though autumn begins on the 23rd, keep smiling and laughing — good medicine for the days ahead.
