Margarete “Marge” Dehn

Margarete “Marge” Dehn, 94, of Cambridge and formerly of St. Paul, died August 21, 2011 at Cambridge Medical Center.  

Margarete was born May 28, 1917 in Arena, North Dakota to John and Hedvig (Eissinger) Hanson. Marge married Everett Dehn May 27, 1935.  She had two sons and two daughters. Her youngest daughter was killed by an automobile when she was only five years old. Marge’s children are all very close to her and one another.

Marge was a long time employee at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul for more than 35 years. She volunteered at many organizations regularly until she was 85. After she retired, she was able to travel across the United States and Canada. Marge enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble and other games with her friends. She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles.

Marge will be loving remembered by her daughter, Sherrill (Bill) Bley of Cambridge; two sons, John (Diane) Dehn of Florida, and Butch Dehn of California; brother, Bob (Shirley) Hanson of Canon Falls; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores, and two brothers, Lee and Dick Hanson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Rev. Howard Skulstad officiating.  A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
