As part of an extensive planning process the East Central Regional Development Commission (ECRDC) and their former advisory committee, the East Central Arts Council, decided that in order to better serve its mission the Regional Arts Council would become a new and independent organization.
The new East Central Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) established itself as a non-profit and became independent as of July 1.
ECRAC serves Region 7E, the east central Minnesota counties of Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Pine by providing grants and other services for both artists and organizations that sponsor arts programming. ECRAC’s new location is in Braham. There will be an open house for ECRAC in conjunction with the annual IMAGE Art Show Oct. 14 -22.
Information sessions regarding ECRAC grant programs are being held to assist applicants in preparations for the upcoming grant deadlines. These art grant information sessions will be Thursday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. and Thursday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. The location is the new ECRAC office. There is no charge for these information sessions but attendees must register in advance.
For more information on East Central Regional Arts Council grants or services, or to register for an information session, contact Mary Minnick-Daniels, Executive Director, at the new office: 112 Main Street South, P.O.
