According to the National Weather Service, a tornado touched down in Mille Lacs and Isanti counties Saturday night, July 30.
A National Weather Service Storm Damage Survey Team assessed damage that occurred Saturday evening in Northwestern Isanti County.
The team determined an EF-0 tornado touched down. The tornado touched down just north of Co. Rod. 10 in Mille Lacs County, and less than a quarter-mile west of the Isanti County border. The tornado traveled southeast into northwestern Isanti County, and eventually turned directly south along Co. Rd. 58, just West of Dalbo.
The tornado track ended less than half a mile north of south Stanchfield Lake. The path length was about five miles, and the maximum width was about 100 yards.
The most damage was found along Co. Rd. 58 where large trees were snapped and uprooted. A garage of one home shifted off its foundation in the storm.
