The annual Rum River Bicycle Classic will be hosted on Saturday, Aug. 6. Cyclists are invited to tour Isanti County on either 10, 25 or 40-mile rides. Riders will depart Outdoor Edge at 8 a.m., with the first leg taking all bikers over the new Cambridge-Isanti Bike Trail. Cost is $25/cyclist with proceeds going toward the Isanti Safety & Rescue unit. To register, stop by the Outdoor Edge in downtown Cambridge (115 S. Adams St.) or call 763-552-3343.

All Comers Track & Field Open Aug. 8
Plan on competing at the first annual Cambridge All Comers Track and Field Open, a fun-filled event for all. Athletes ages 1-100 are invited to run, throw, jump and hurdle your way down the track on Aug. 8, 6-8 p.m. at the Cambridge Isanti High School Track. $2 entry fee. Pheasants Forever Banquet Aug. 19
The 22nd annual Isanti County Pheasants Forever “Fundraising Banquet” will be held Friday, Aug. 19 at the Cambridge American Legion. The proceeds go toward local projects such as spring and fall youth hunts and habitat programs such as prairie grass seeding at the new Kelly Lake WMA in western Isanti County. Join Cambridge Lutheran Men for Twins game
The Cambridge Lutheran Men in Mission is sponsoring the “Cambridge-Isanti Area Night at the Twins” on Tuesday, Aug. 23 when the Minnesota Twins host Baltimore at beautiful Target Field (7:10 p.m.). Tickets are available for $15 or $13 and are available to the public. Air-conditioned coach buses are also available for $5/person, departing from Cambridge Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased by calling Charlie Johnson (763-689-1869) and will be distributed after Aug. 16.
Ruffed Grouse Society Banquet Aug. 25
The Rum River Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society will hold its 16th Annual Sportsmen’s Banquet at the Cambridge American Legion, on Thursday, August 25 beginning with a reception party at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. As is the custom at this event the evening will feature a live and silent auction, games, drawings and door prizes, highlighted with the finest selection of quality firearms, artwork and collectable’s.
