Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution

There will not be a Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution in July due to the Isanti County Fair. The next food distribution will be in August.

Local Farmers’ Markets

Ongoing: Check out the Markets: Cambridge Farmers’ Market, Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., held at the parking lot of the City Center Market. Masters Gardeners on hand to answer questions. Isanti Farmers’ Market held at the Riverside Grocery Store, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life Meeting

Walgreen’s Customer Appreciation Day

Saturday, July 23: Enjoy food, fun and games from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A garage sale will help raise money for Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

Crohn’s and Colitis Support Group

Tuesday, July 26:

A support group for people dealing with Crohn’s disease and/or colitis will be held room 12:30-2 p.m. Anyone affected, in any way, by either of these conditions is welcome to attend. You do not necessarily need to be the one with the medical condition to attend. If you are supporting someone affected by Crohn’s or colitis, you are also welcome. Refreshments provided. Cambridge Customer Appreciation

Wednesday, July 27: The Cambridge Customer Appreciation Event planning committee will meet at 10 a.m. at the Minnco Center in Cambridge. Swedish Club meeting

Thursday, July 28: The Swedish Club will meet at Riverwood Village, 909 S. Dellwood St. in Cambridge, for a potluck supper and meeting at 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

Open House retirement for Bonnie Zimmerman

Friday, July 29: An Open House Retirement Celebration will be held in honor of Bonnie Zimmerman from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cambridge City Hall. Zimmerman worked for over 29 years for the city of Cambridge in its finance department. The community is invited to attend the Open House and offer their well-wishes to Zimmerman.

Swedish Club meeting

Pancake Breakfast with Relay for Life

Saturday, July 30: The American Cancer Society is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser for Relay for Life from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Applebee’s in Cambridge. Tickets are $6 at the door.

Free Food Preservation Class

Saturday, July 30: Free Class at Green Barn Garden Center: “Food Preservation,” will be held from 10-11 a.m. presented by Isanti County Master Gardener, Jason Kopp. Learn the basics of home canning and freezing to preserve the harvest. Jason has been preserving foods with his family for over 10 years.

Founder of Youth With A Mission to speak

Sunday, July 31: The Founder and International Director of YWAM/King’s Kids International, Dale Kauffman, will give a message to the community at Lakeside Church beginning at 7 p.m. The evening will begin with worship and then Dale, who is a prophetic man and a very inspirational speaker, will challenge us with things that God has put on his heart for these times. Fundraiser for Haiti earthquake survivors

Friday, Aug. 5: SWAF – Haiti will be selling sleep shirts to benefit the Latorra-Larsen medical foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, at Minnco Credit Union, 235 W. First Ave., Cambridge, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sleep Shirts – 100% Cotton – only $5, slight irregulars at 75 percent off retail price. Check their progress at Latorra-Larsen.org. All money collected will be used to help improve medical care in Haiti and the earthquake survivors.

CHS Class of 1996 Reunion

Saturday, Aug. 6: Cambridge High School Class of 1996 will hold a class reunion at Spectacular Events Banquet Center in Isanti, from 6 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $35 per person. For more information visit the Reunion’s Facebook page.

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

Saturday, Aug. 6: The Isanti VFW Post #2735 is holding a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $5; children 7 and under eat for free.  Proceeds going to Minneapolis Veterans Home and other veteran programs.
