Call for entries for 2011 Small Quilt Show in Braham

The Hands All Around Quilt Guild announces a Call for Entries for their 2011 Small Quilt Show which will be held on Friday, Aug. 5 during Braham Pie Day.

One lucky person will win the “Escaping Black & White” 2011 Raffle Quilt (including two pillow shams) from the Hands All Around Quilt Guild in Braham. Tickets are $1 per chance, and may be purchased during the Small Quilt Show at the Braham City Hall at Pie Day on Friday, Aug. 5.

The quilt size is limited to a maximum perimeter size of 180 inches and must be hand or machine quilted. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three quilts, based on votes from show attendees. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at Braham City Hall. The City Hall is located one block off Main Street in Braham, and show attendees find the respite of air-conditioning a welcoming break in the hot afternoon.

Registration forms to the Small Quilt Show can be obtained by emailing [email protected], or calling 763-258-7072. Preregistration is required by July 22, with quilts being received by July 29.

The Hands All Around Quilt Guild is comprised of quilters of all skill levels and ages, and meets the third Friday of each month at the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.

Activities throughout the year include the construction of service quilts for donation to area charities, a yearly raffle quilt, the yearly Small Quilt Show during Pie Day, along with demonstrations, challenges, and projects to further members’ quilting skills and techniques.
