Ronald D. Anderson

Ronald D. Anderson, age 69, of Cambridge died suddenly July 1, 2011 at Cambridge Medical Center. 

Ronald Dwaine Anderson was born Jan. 10, 1942 at the family homestead in Isanti County, Minnesota to Eddie and Lily Anderson. He attended school in Wyanett Township and later attended Cambridge High School. On Aug. 25, 1962 Ronald married Suzanne Foote at Stanchfield Baptist Church. They have made Stanchfield Baptist their church home ever since. Ronald was a building contractor and he enjoyed his work very much. He also loved spending time in his shop woodworking, mowing the lawn with his fleet of lawn tractors, and snowmobiling, especially at Yellowstone National Park. Ron enjoyed going to barbershop quartet and gospel quartet concerts with the Cathedral Gospel Quartet being his favorite. He was always good for the joke of the day.  His grandchildren were the twinkle in his eye and he enjoyed attending many of their activities. For the last 22 years Ronald battled many health issues. He was a courageous fighter, always keeping a positive attitude throughout it all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; two sons, Jay (Tracy) Anderson of Garden Ridge, Texas, Scott (Andrea) Anderson of Cambridge; one daughter, Robyn (Paul) Fixell of Cambridge; two brothers, Robert (Harriet) Anderson of Rockford, Ill., Kenneth (Lois) Anderson of Princeton; three sisters, Elaine (Reynold) Olson of Cambridge, Phyllis Johnson of Milaca, Marvel (Allan) Regehr of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Jake and Deanna; and by many other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Darold, Dean, Glen and Franklin, and one sister, Harriet Tonn.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, July 6 at Stanchfield Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Cope officiating. Ronald’s grandchildren provided special music and Pam Theline served as pianist. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel.
