There will not be a Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution in July due to the Isanti County Fair. The next food distribution will be in August.
Local Farmers’ Markets
Ongoing: Cambridge Farmers’ Market Welcomes Industries, Inc. They support people with disabilities and other challenges by providing training and employment services. They make items out of old lumber from barns. They may not be at the market every Saturday, but check each week at the Cambridge Farmers’ Market, at the City Center Parking lot, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Isanti Market is held at the Riverside Market Grocery Store, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Women’s Cancer Support Group
Thursday, July 7: A women’s cancer support group will meet from 2-3:30 p.m. This meeting will focus on issues specific to women who are dealing with cancer. All women touched by cancer, in any way, are invited to attend. Complimentary refreshments served. For more information call Bonnie at 763-688-8415.
Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution
Thursday, July 7: A free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution, hosted by Cambridge UPC Church, 210 10th Ave SW, Cambridge, (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Questions, or for a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842. Dinners & Bread Distribution are held the 1st Thursday of each month.
Open House for Pastor Larson
Saturday, July 9: An Appreciation and Farewell Open House for Pastor Jonathan and Lois Larson will be held at North Isanti Baptist Church, 2248 313th Ave. NE., Cambridge, from 2-5 p.m.
New Hope Motorcycle Sunday
Sunday, July 10: New Hope Community Church in Cambridge hosts its 12th annual “Motorcycle Sunday,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will be consist of free food, great lunch, bike vendors, drive in bike show and car show, burn-out pit, live music and kids zone. There will be a biker service at 11 a.m. The day will finish at 2 p.m. with a “Ride for Cambridge Fire Department.” ($10 suggested donation). The whole community is invited to this rain or shine event.
Saints Peter and Paul Church Salad Luncheon
Wednesday, July 13: Saints Peter and Paul Church Annual Salad Luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon is sponsored by the Women’s group. Ages 11 and up is $6; 6-10, $2; and 5 and under are free. The church is located at 1050 Southview Ave. at Hwy.107, Braham.
‘Beautiful You’ Program
Thursday, July 14: The Harbor Room will offer “Beautiful You,” from 6:30-8 p.m., which is a program that provides make-up application instruction and offers various options for women dealing with hair loss while undergoing cancer treatment. Participants receive approximately $200 in Mary Kay make-up plus supplies at no charge. This program was made possible with funding from East Central Energy’s Operation Round-Up grant. Anyone currently undergoing treatment, or who has completed treatment within the past six months, can attend. Each session limited to six women. Participants are also able to bring a guest of their choice for support. Call Bonnie at 763-688-8415 to RSVP and for more information.
Gymnastics team car wash fundraiser
Saturday, July 16: The Cambridge-Isanti High School Gymnastics Team will be conducting a car wash to raise funds for their upcoming season. The car wash will be held at the MinnCo Credit Union in Cambridge on Hwy. 95 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Donations appreciated.
Men’s Cancer Support Group
Tuesday, July 19: A support group for men dealing with cancer will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Men can discuss anything about their cancer journey or the journey of someone in their life. Facilitator, Jim Donahue, will lead the group in discussion. All men dealing with any cancer, in any way, are encouraged to attend. Refreshments provided. Crohn’s and Colitis Support Group
Tuesday, July 26:
A support group for people dealing with Crohn’s disease and/or colitis will be held rom 12:30-2 p.m. Anyone affected, in any way, by either of these conditions is welcome to attend. You do not necessarily need to be the one with the medical condition to attend. If you are supporting someone affected by Crohn’s or colitis, you are also welcome. Refreshments provided.
