Cayla Yund to represent Cambridge at Aquatennial

The Cambridge Ambassador Program is proud to have 2010 Ambassador Cayla Yund representing the community at the 2011 Minneapolis Aquatennial July 17-23.

Spending a week participating in the Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program is an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a select few young women each summer. The Program is thrilled to have such a charismatic and well-spoken young woman representing Cambridge at the “Best Days of Summer.”

As a candidate, Yund will enjoy a myriad of activities such as a spaghetti-eating contest, dinner with the visiting dignitaries at Fogo de Chao prior to the Torchlight Parade, a day of yachting with the Power Boat Squadron on Lake Minnetonka, and a heartwarming visit to the Veteran’s Home.

There will be daily interviews with the judges, culminating with the Queen of the Lakes Coronation on Friday, July 22.

Come join the fun yourself on Wednesday, July 20 at the Torchlight Parade along Hennepin Avenue. Cheer on Yund and the other 42 candidates, as well as the city of Cambridge float featuring both the 2010 and 2011 Ambassadors.

Well-wishes may be sent to “Cayla Yund, Cambridge” at Minneapolis Marriott City Center, 30 South 7th Street, Minneapolis, MN  55402. Flowers or gifts sent to the hotel should also include the phrase “Aquatennial Hospitality Room.”
