The Governor did submit a budget

Dear Editor:

A June 8 letter writer (Budgeting 2011) claimed that, “Democrat Governor Mark Dayton did not propose a budget.” He was incorrect. First of all, Minnesota Statute 16A.11 requires the governor to submit a budget to the legislature. Secondly, Governor Dayton presented his budget Feb. 15. The press release can be found at www.mn.gov/governor/newsroom/archives. Lastly, a complete copy of the budget itself can be found at www.mmb.state.mn.us/gov-bill-11.
