Legion Baseball opens season 1-1
The Cambridge Legion baseball squad opened its summer season with a 3-2 loss at Princeton June 13, limited to 5 hits. Matt Ziebarth doubled and scored in the second inning, and Pst #290′s other run came in the seventh when Reed Burns singled and later scored on a Clayton Jennissen hit.
On June 14, Cambridge #290 bounced back to top St Francis 3-2 after trailing 2-0 after the first inning. Ryan Miller got the win on the mound, throwing 5 innings, giving up 5 hits, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts, 2 runs, 1 ER. Clayton Jennissen got the save as he pitched 1/3 of an inning before the game was called because of rain. Offensively Post #290 was led by Ryan Miller and Matt Ziebarth as they had 3 hits each. Scoring the runs were Ziebarth (2) and Chromy. Jennissen and Chromy both notched an RBI.
