Sgt. Ralph William Carlson

Sgt. Ralph William Carlson, of Braham, died as a prisoner of war on April 30, 1951 in Korea. On June 25, 2011, after 60 years, Ralph will be returned to his home town for burial. 

Ralph is survived by his brother Marvin Carlson of Braham, sister Florence Shebetka of Elk River, nieces Linda Carlson Westcott (Rick) of Gig Harbor, Wash.; Laurie Carlson (Bill Voedisch) of Marine on the St. Croix, Nancy Norton (Shawn) of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Diane Baima of Milwaukee, Wis.; nephews Richard Carlson of Braham, Lanny Westphal (Mary) of LaCrosse, Wis., and Glen Westphal of St. Francis; many cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Rich Chronis officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Rice Lake Cemetery of Braham. Military Honors will be provided by the Braham VFW Post 1731, the Cambridge American Legion Post 290, the Minnesota Patriot Guard, and the Minnesota National Guard Honors Team.

Arrangements are by the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham. A full notice will follow in next week’s edition.
