Join for the opening dance of the summer season at Sweetgrass Farm on Saturday, June 25. From Bemidji, The John and Rose Band will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.
The John and Rose Band is a unique 4-piece roots-country and bluegrass band that incorporates fiddle, guitar, bass, and snare with tight duo vocal harmonies and solid driving rhythm. Their style blends classic sound with brand-new fire and energy. Headed by husband-and-wife team, John and Rose Vincent, the band is known for lively dances and shows with a wide range of songs from the beginnings of American country music.
With a solid background of country band experience since 1999, John incorporates country, bluegrass, Cajun, and rockabilly sound into fiddle, guitar, and mandolin, covering both rhythm and lead. Rose is a classical crossover fiddle player with a B.M. degree in violin performance and five years on the bluegrass gospel circuit. Together they blend lead and harmony vocals for a fresh yet classic sound for all audiences.
Some of you might remember hearing John Vincent in one of his other bands – The HonkyTonk John Band – when they played for a 2010 Dalbo Dance.
