Safe Sitter Class at Braham Community Ed

The Safe Sitter course is a medically accurate childcare course developed especially for boys and girls 11-to-13 years-old. It is a one-day course, developed by pediatrician, Dr. Patricia Keener, and Braham Area Community Ed is pleased to offer this popular class.

Class will be held on Tuesday, June 21 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Braham High School. Registration is due by Thursday, June 14. Class fee is $30 and some scholarships are available. Parents are asked to come at 4 p.m. for a short presentation from the students.

Safe Sitter teaches you the skills you need to safely care for children from infant through school age. This class will help you gain confidence and teach you how to handle various situations that may happen on the job. Please bring a bag lunch.

Valleyfair trip June 24

Valleyfair boasts more than 75 rides and attractions on 90 acres and is the largest amusement park in the upper Midwest. Admission includes all the rides, shows and Soak City Waterpark that you can handle. Bring swim suit, towel and bag lunch or money for two meals inside park. There will be a designated check-in time at lunch. Snacks, souvenirs, video games and Challenge Park are not included in the fee.

For those  48” tall-over, there is an early-bird fee of $34 if paid by June 7 or $39 by June 17. All children age 13 & under will need to come with a designated adult.  Children must be 4 years-. old in order to ride the bus. Summer Youth Driving course

A 30-Hour Summer Youth Driver’s Ed classroom course will be taught by Denny Foerster, certified instructor, beginning Tuesday, June 7. Classes will be at the Braham High School from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday evenings from June 7 – Aug. 9. All students need to be age 15 by Sept. 1, 2011 to take this $99 class. There is an easy  “pay as you go” plan to receive a Minnesota driver’s license.

Three required steps: 1) Complete the required 30-hour classroom instruction training;

2) After the successful completion of training, students can request a blue card from the instructor, required for taking the permit test. The blue card costs an additional $99 payable to the instructor and is required to take your permit test;

3) After a student receives a permit, he/she can then contact the instructor to register for the required 6 hours of behind-the wheel training to be completed in three two-hour sessions for a total of $135.
