The Cambridge ambassadors recently competed against the Isanti ambassadors as part of the Isanti horseshoe club’s Horseshoe Pitching is Fun.
The event took place Tuesday, May 17 at the Junction Bowling center. A small crowd gathered to watch as each of the girls paired off to play a game of 21. The Cambridge squad struck first as Cayla Yund threw 5 ringers en route to a 21-6 win over Amanda Wichman.
In game two Cambridge’s Kayla Wicklund scored a 21-5 victory over Caroline Haas to secure bragging rights for the next year as Renita Wilkes scored the sweep by beating Taylor Nordberg 21-16.
Along with bragging rights for the next year the Cambridge ambassadors also received a commemorative plaque from the club for their achievements. Even though the match didn’t tilt in Isanti’s favor the girls had fun and left with their heads high as they gave it their best.
