C-I Softball falls to Anoka in 7AAA tourney

C-I Coach Dave Hanson tried to settle his team down after Anoka took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the May 26 playoff game.

Cambridge-Isanti had its season come to an abrupt end when No. 7 seed Anoka prevailed 10-5 at CIHS in the second round of the Section 7AAA Softball tournament May 26. The Bluejackets, seeded No. 2 in the tourney, closed the 2011 campaign with a 16-5 record.

Anoka will next take on No. 3 Forest Lake when the double-elimination portion of the tournament gets under way June 1 at Chisago Lakes. The Rangers defeated Andover 11-1 on Thursday. In the other half of the brackets, top-seed Duluth Central takes on St. Francis. Central ripped Blaine 9-2 and the Saints beat Duluth East 1-0  in their quarterfinal games.
