Cory Whittlef

Cory Whittlef, 34, of Zimmerman, Minn. and formerly of Princeton, Minn. passed away unexpectedly May 9, 2011 at his home. 

Cory was born March 27, 1977 to Lowell and Laurie (McCall) Whittlef in Cambridge, Minn. Cory grew up and was educated in Princeton. He was currently living in Zimmerman with his family.

Cory was a kind, compassionate, caring person who often put others before himself. He had a strong faith which he devoted his life to.   Cory enjoyed attending church, assisting on the chair committee and with the Gospel Tract Ministry. He also enjoyed volunteering with the former Rum River Faith Caregivers.

Cory is survived by his mother: Laurie (Albert) Thompson; twin sister: Kristen “Kris” (Mark Trail) Whittlef; brother: Craig (Allison) Whittlef; nephews: Dylan and Tyler Hallila, niece: Zoe Whittlef; aunt: Jan Brower; uncles: Lynn (Linda) Whittlef, Duane (Mildred) Whittlef, Richard McCall and Mike McCall. Cory is also survived by his foster mom and family Margery (Perry) Peterson, his best friend: Neil Christianson and by his cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

Cory was preceded in death by his father: Lowell.

Memorial Services were held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Princeton Evangelical Free Church in Princeton.
