In spite of winter holding late into April, Rum River BMX volunteers are looking forward to a new season of BMX pedal bike racing which began Mother’s Day weekend. Over the last two weeks, many families have come out to lend a hand in anticipation of the new race season.
“We have some of the best volunteers in the country. Rain or shine, they are here to support the track and the families who come out to build great memories all summer long. We couldn’t do it without them,” said track director Kevin Riedemann.
The great team of dedicated volunteers is the backbone of a Rum River BMX’s national-caliber race program which is consistently ranked as a top-10 track in the Central United States, and has hosted national and state finals. The track is proud of the strong local racers who became 21 of the 2010 State Champions and nine of the top-10 2010 racers in the country (ranked in their respective age bracket).
