Cambridge Ambassador Program kicks off

The Cambridge Ambassador Program kicked-off its 2011 Candidate Experience with 16 young women and 33 soon-to-be kindergarten graduates at last week’s “Pajama Party,” just one of the many exciting events planned for this year’s participants. Several of these events are open to the public.

All past Cambridge Royalty/ Ambassadors are encouraged to meet the Ambassador Candidates and celebrate the rich history of the Cambridge Ambassador Program at the Royalty Reunion Brunch, Sunday, May 15 at D.J.’s at Spectacular Events.

Friday, May 20, the Ambassadors and candidates will host a royal Princess Party fundraiser at the Armed Forces Reserve/Community Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with an optional “Fashion Show” to follow at 8 p.m. Little Princesses ages 4-8 may register by May 14 for $18; or after that date or at the door for $20.

The Cambridge Lions will host a Pancake & Waffle Breakfast fundraiser on behalf of the program on Sunday, May 22 at Christ the King Parish Hall.  Serving runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and tickets are available from any of the 49 candidates as well as at the door. A silent auction will also be held in conjunction with the breakfast, with items donated and secured by the Little Miss families.

Friends, family, sponsors, and the public are invited to “Meet the Candidates” at this year’s Dessert Social on Tuesday, June 7 at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church. Following introductions of the 16 Ambassador Candidates, all will enjoy a delectable display of treats and an opportunity to socialize.

The 7th annual Cambridge Ambassador Classic Golf Tournament for scholarships will be held Friday, June 10 at the Purple Hawk Country Club. Registration for the best-ball scramble starts at noon, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top men’s, women’s, and mixed teams. The fun includes 18-holes of golf with a cart, individual contests at the holes, games led by the candidates at the tee boxes, prizes and raffles, and a delicious steak dinner to cap off a great day.

Crowning Celebrations will be held Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. for Little Miss Cambridge and Friday, June 17 for the Cambridge Ambassadors. Both programs will be held at the Cambridge-Isanti High School PAC at 7 p.m.  Tickets will be available at the door.
