Ongoing: The Cambridge Farmers’ Market will start Saturday, May 7, at the parking lot of the City Center Market, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Isanti Farmers’ Market will be held at the Riverside Market Grocery Store on Tuesday and Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Long Lake Garage Sale
Wednesday, May 4-Friday, May 6: Join other bargain hunters for a garage sale at Long Lake Lutheran Church. The sale will last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each of its three days.
Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution
Thursday, May 5: A free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution, hosted by Cambridge UPC Church, 210 10th Ave SW, Cambridge, (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Questions, or for a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842. Dinners & Bread Distribution are held the 1st Thursday of each month.
Free computer class offered
Friday, May 6: An ‘Overview of Computers’ taught by Dave Larson will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Joy Lutheran Church, Cambridge. To register call Vicki at 763-689-5912. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. Topics include: computer terminology, the parts inside the computer, tips for buying one, should you buy a laptop, pros and cons of different stores, and plenty of time for questions.
Red Hat Sister’s Benefit
Friday, May 13: A Red Hat Sister’s Benefit for the family of Joan Bauer will be held at 2 p.m. All Red Hatter’s, as a group or individually, are welcome to join for the benefit. Third Annual Bird Walk at Anderson County Park
Saturday, May 14: The public is invited to join expert birders Joe Sausen and Tom Anderson from the local Wild River Audubon Chapter as they explore the park for spring migrant and returning resident birds from 8 a.m. to noon. Warblers, often referred to as the “butterflies of the bird world,” should be in the area as they move north. The park is located in the southeast corner of Isanti County on County Road 18, a quarter mile north of County Road 9 and two miles south of County Road 5. The event is free and family-friendly. Salute to the Troops concert
Sunday, May 15: “A Salute to the Troops” concert will be presented by the East Central Grad Band at 2 p.m. at the Cambridge Middle School Auditorium. Featured will be patriotic music from Semper Fi, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Anchors Aweigh, to the Star Spangled Banner and more. Also featured will be some of the Cambridge-Isanti High School band members who received a superior rating at contest, a special drumming presentation and a display of antique military instruments. The concert is free, but a $5 per person donation is recommended.
