A 43-year-old Forest Lake man has been sentenced to 33 months in prison in connection with a residential burglary in North Branch Township December 15, 2010.
Sean Drew Erickson was apprehended shortly after 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 after his vehicle, which was pulling a trailer, was followed by a relative of the homeowner on 285th Ave. N.E. who was watching the property and who believed he had interrupted a burglary.
Erickson was subsequently arrested by an Isanti County Sheriff’s deputy after a brief foot chase and charged with felony 2nd degree burglary of a dwelling and misdemeanor fleeing a peace officer by means other than a vehicle.
Items found in the trailer his vehicle was pulling were positively identified by a neighbor and by the victims’ relative.
He appeared before Judge James Dehn April 27 where he received the 33 month sentence, a $50 fine, and was ordered to pay $1026 restitution to the victims.
The misdemeanor fleeing a peace officer charge was dismissed.
Erickson, who has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1991, also has an outstanding warrant for felony theft by swindle in Ramsey County and three outstanding warrants in Washington County for gross misdemeanor DWI-operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, felony 5th degree possession of a controlled substance and gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation and felony 5th degree possession of a controlled substance-subsequent conviction and gross misdemeanor DWI-test refusal.
