Bomber Softball posts two wins
After dropping the season-opener 8-0 to Ogilvie April 12, the Braham softball club rallied with a 5-3 non-conference victory over PACT April 14
In her first varsity start, sophomore Jen O’Neil threw a one-hitter against the Panthers for the win on the mound. She also went 2-for-3 with a run to help her cause. Liz Anderson led the offense with three hits, two runs and three stolen bases. Rachel DeGray added a key RBI single.
Braham 11, East Central 1
On Friday, the Bombers notched a win at East Central, beating the cold and windy conditions by ending the game in six innings. Sophomore Sara Tomlinson gave up just four hits for the complete-game win.
Anderson added two more hits and four stolen bases at the top of the order. Kayla Nickles finished with four RBI on two hits, also stealing four bases. Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow reached base four times and drove in a pair of runs. Emily Long (two hits) and Dani Braund (three runs) were more offensive stars for the Bombers.
Hinckley-Fin. 7, Braham 0
The visiting Jaguars made the most of six hits off Tomlinson, along with taking advantage of Braham fielding miscues, to grab a Great River win April 18. Tomlinson walked just one batter. Anderson and O’Neil supplied Braham’s lone hits in the loss.
