The Braham girls came home with three 1st places when they took 4th at the April 12 Rush City Tigerama. Joanna Hale had the lone individual win when she cleared 9-0 on the pole vault.
Two Bomber relays also won at Rush City. The 4×200 of Austyn Eng, Jaclyn Hollenkamp, Becca Dahlman and Hannah Dahlman finished in 1:51.5– 10 seconds faster than the runner-up RC squad. The 4×100 of Hale, Eng, Hollencamp and B. Dahlman combined for a 53.3 time– five seconds faster than Hinckley-Finlayson.
Eng added a 3rd place in the pole vault (8-0). Rachel Eskuri (13:18) and Sammy Patterson (13:24) went 3rd-4th in the 3200. Hollencamp was 3rd in the 200 (29.1). Also placing 4th for the Bombers were Jessica Westman in the 1600 and Jenna Winter in the 800.
RC Tigerama Girls totals: Rush City 172, Hinckley-Fin. 100, Pine City 94, Braham 79, Moose Lake-WR 45, East Central 30, Ogilvie 22, Duluth Marshall 16.
• The Braham boys were 7th at the Tigerama, with the majority of their points coming in the sprint events. Jacob Rajkowski took 1st in the 400 dash (54.4). He placed 3rd in the 100 (11.71) followed by teammate Luke Whitehead in 4th (11.77). Those two flip-flopped places in the 200 (Whitehead 25.0 and Rajkowski 25.1).
• Back on April 7, the Bombers opened the outdoor track & field season at the GRC Unlimited at Ogilvie. The Bomber boys placed 5th overall, led by Zach Dahlman winning the 400 (57.2) and placing 4th in the pole vault (8-06). The 4×100 relay of Logan White, Bryce Lanhart, Dahlman and Whitehead was 2nd (50.0).
Hannah Dahlman won the 400 (1:03.8), and the 4×200 of Eng, Bethany Johnson, HollenKamp and H. Dahlman took 1st (1:58.2). The Braham girls placed 4th at the Unlimited behind meet-winner Mille Lacs.
Eskuri in the 3200 (13:31), and the 4×800 relay of Westman, Kate Bendickson, Patterson and Eskuri (11:17) both had 2nd place finishes. Adding 3rd-place points were Westman in the 1600 (6:14) and HollenKamp in the 200 (27.7).
