Sloughgrass Family Band comes to SpringVale
The Sloughgrass Family Band will perform at SpringVale Baptist Church, Saturday, April 16, at 6:30 p.m.
The band hails from Birchdale, Minn. on the Canadian Border. The night is a family affair with Grandma Audrey Nelson setting the rhythm on the upright bass. Her two daughters, two sons-in-law and three of her grandchildren, all join her in playing on a variety of instruments.
The band’s music is a blend of bluegrass, old-time, Scandinavian, gospel, country and folk music. All the group members take turns on the vocal and instrumental pieces. They have played all over Minnesota, and twice have been featured on KSTP 1500’s Garage Logic at the Minnesota State Fair where they were a crowd favorite.
SpringVale Baptist Church is located at 410 Co. Rd. 6. Free will offering will be taken at the concert.
