Free Community Dinner
Thursday, April 14: A free Community Dinner will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Use the downstairs entrance. Everyone is welcome to join for a time of fellowship and a meal. Call the church office at 763-444-9201 with questions.
‘Beautiful You’ Program
Thursday, April 14: The Harbor Room will offer “Beautiful You,” from 6:30-8 p.m. It’s a program that provides make-up application instruction and offers various options for women dealing with hair loss while undergoing cancer treatment. Participants receive approximately $200 in Mary Kay make-up plus supplies at no charge. Anyone currently undergoing treatment, or who has completed treatment within the past six months, can attend. Participants are also able to bring a guest; however, guests will not receive free products. Call Bonnie at 763-688-8415 to RSVP and for more information.
‘Get the Dirt on Composting’
Thursday, April 14: The community is invited to a class at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge at 7 p.m. “Get the Dirt on Composting,” will be given by Beverly McLaughlin. The class is sponsored by the Isanti County Master Gardeners Club. Open to the public.
Isanti County Self-Advocacy Meeting
Friday, April 15: The Isanti County Self-Advocacy group will meet from 4-5:30 p.m. at Cambridge United Methodist Church on North Cypress Street. They will discuss Self-Advocacy Theater as well as information about what is going on at the Capital and what self-advocates can do. Bring a potluck item to share after the meeting. Friends of the Grass Lake Church meeting
Saturday, April 16: Friends of the Grass Lake Church will be meeting at 10 a.m. at the Park Café in Braham. Everyone interested in the restoration of the oldest church building in Kanabec County is welcome to attend. Questions, call Judy Knudson, 320-396-2995.
Spring Bake & Craft Sale
Saturday, April 16: A Spring Bake & Craft Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cambridge City Center (formerly Cambridge Mall). Proceeds go to the Isanti County Humane Society “Share the Care.”
Isanti VFW Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 16: The Ladies Auxiliary of the Isanti VFW will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
Sunday, April 17: The Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 12813 in Cambridge will hold a Pancake Breakfast at the Catholic Parish Hall from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. All proceeds will be given to St. Scholastica School. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 with children 5 and under free. Also featured is a silent auction and bake sale.
Surplus Food Distribution
Tuesday, April 19: Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution. Registration and food distribution from 3 to 5:30 p.m. (or until food supply is depleted) at the Isanti County Fairgrounds, 3101 Hwy. 95 NE, Cambridge. Food is distributed to one person per address. Volunteers are needed anytime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. to help with various tasks. Call 763-691-9035 for more info.
Men’s Cancer Support Group
Tuesday, April 19: A support group for men dealing with cancer will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Men can discuss anything about their cancer journey or the journey of someone in their life. Facilitator, Jim Donahue, will lead the group in discussion. All men dealing with any cancer, in any way, are encouraged to attend. Refreshments provided. Cambridge Senior Dance
Wednesday, April 27: The Cambridge Senior Dance will be held at the American Legion in Cambridge from 1-4 pm with Dick Szyplinski playing his accordion. Cost is $5.
Spring Salad Buffet
Wednesday, April 27: Cambridge United Methodist Church, 404 N. Cypress, will host its 32nd Annual Spring Salad Buffet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in honor of Administrative Assistant’s Day. Tickets are $6.50 in advance, $7 at the door, and children under 3 are free. Proceeds fund camperships. For tickets, call the church at 763-689-2071.
Broasted Chicken Dinner
Friday, April 29: The American Legion Post 290 will be serving a Broasted Chicken Dinner at the upper level of the Cambridge Legion from 5 p.m. until all the chicken is sold. Cost of the meal is $6 per person. This will be the last of the last Friday of the month chicken meals until fall.
Pancake Breakfast, Silent Auction fundraiser
Saturday, April 30: The 2011 Cambridge-Isanti High School Graduation Lock-In Party will have a fundraiser event with a Pancake Breakfast/Silent Auction at Cambridge Applebees from 8-10 a.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased ahead of time by calling Diane at 763-689-5853. All are welcome.
