C-I Golf opening action

Jared Knutson led the C-I boys with a 7th-place 79, Matt Swanson shot an 84 and Ryan Lundeen an 85 when the Jackets placed 7th at the April 11 Bulldog Invite on Pebble Creek. M-8 partners Becker and Buffalo finished 8 and 5 shots ahead of C-I.

“A 335 is not a bad score considering we haven’t had a practice outside before the first meet.  Hopefully we do not make a habit of scoring in the the 330’s.  It was fantastic to get outside and play golf,” noted C-I Coach Mike Hennen.

Bluejacket Girls 5th in conference opener

Cambridge-Isanti combined for a 5th-place 213 total when Mississippi 8 girls golf opened April 12 at Pebble Creek. Monticello took 1st with its 188 mark, and Buffalo was next at 193.

Emily Sunderman and Leah Schoenecker tied as the Bluejacket leaders with 9-hole rounds of 52. Also shooting for the varsity were Anna Sunderman (53), Megan Hallstrom (56), Alyssa Rapps (58) an Megan Koester (61).

On April 6, E. Sunderman’s 103 and L. Schoenecker’s 109 led the Bluejacket girls at the Monticello Invite to open the season. Hallstrom and Rapp both carded 118s.

At the April 11 Pine City Scramble, Sunderman, Schoenecker and Alyssa Rapp placed 2nd with an 82.
