Nancy Easter, 74, of Cambridge died April 8, 2011 at her home.
Nancy Ellen Easter was born Oct. 10, 1936 in Monroe, Wis. to Wallace and Betty Anderson. She graduated high school in Shorewood, Wis. Nancy then attended Kalamazoo College in Michigan, and also the University of Minnesota. She graduated as a Registered Occupational Therapist and was noted in Who’s Who of American Women for innovations in that field. Nancy met and married Elmo Erickson in 1957 to which they had two children, Jeffrey and Darcy. They made their home in the Minneapolis area. Elmo passed away in 1976. Nancy later met Douglas Easter and they were married in 1979. She loved her family. She also enjoyed painting, antiques, stamp collecting, garage sales and she liked to garden. She enjoyed her books and genealogy and she kept in contact with friends from kindergarten through college. Nancy also liked spending the winter in Texas and traveling the country in the RV.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Doug of Cambridge; son, Jeff Erickson of Bemidji; daughter, Darcy (Buster) Fritche of Cambridge; sister, Karen (Terrold) Conway of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Madeline Erickson, Rachel (Lenord) Smith, Adam (Laura) Fritche, and Joseph Fritche; wonderful nieces, Kathy, Kelly and Kristen and nephew, Bill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Betty Anderson nee Burmaster, and first husband Elmo Erickson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Rev. Norman Norland officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Nancy Peabody will serve as musician. Buster Fritche is an honorary pallbearer and Jeff Erickson, Lenny Smith, Adam Fritche and Joseph Fritche are pallbearers. Interment in Cambridge Union Cemetery.
