Two Bluejackets advance to State Speech meet

Megin Hovinen and Adam Guptill will represent the CIHS Speech program at the April 16 Class AA Finals in Chanhassen.

The Cambridge-Isanti H.S. Speech team had two members advance out of Section 7AA to reach the Class AA State meet. Adam Guptill placed 2nd in Duscussion, and Megin Hovinen placed 3rd in Drama. They will attend State Saturday, April 16 at Chanhassen.

Bluejacket speakers who advanced to section finals were: Nicole Bergman (Poetry) and Jessie Peters (Prose) who both placed 8th; Emily Ramstad (Informative) and Adam Heinen (Discussion) who placed 7th; Hannah Palmer (Extemp. Reading) and  Adam Peterson (Creative) who placed 6th; Julia Neary (Prose), Chrissy Dukart (Great Speeches), Sydney Johnson (Extemp. Reading), Jonathan Wells & Christa Nienow (Duo) who all placed 5th.

C-I took 6th place at the last Saturday’s Seciton 7AA meet, missing 4th place by only 2 points. Back on March 26, the Bluejackets placed 2nd at their home meet.
