Play Inc’s summer season to feature Les Miz, Mulan, and more!

The 2011 season for Play Inc has been announced and registrations are being accepted for all three programs. This summer Play Inc will set out to bring you tales of adventure and heroism from around the world. Our youngest performers will hit the high seas, the middle school will wage a war in ancient China, and the high schoolers will build a barricade to fight for a better life in France.

The Little League Players, grades K-4, will be presenting original skits entitled “The Pirates of Play Inc.” Students will create their own pirate adventure as they discover and learn about what goes into performing in the theatre. This program runs from June 13-24.

The Junior Theatre Troupe will present Disney’s Mulan, Jr. Based on the Disney movie, the story of Mulan takes place in ancient China. It will feature all of the songs from the movie as well as a few new ones. The Junior Theatre Troupe is open to students who have finished 5th grade through 8 grade. Rehearsals for this program will begin on June 13 with performances on July 15-17 at the Richard G. Hardy Performing Arts Center at CIHS.

The Yaebo Players will then conclude the season by storming the barricades in Paris, France with their production of Les Miserables. This will prove to be Play Inc.’s biggest production yet and serves as a great way to celebrate 10 years of high school summer productions. Les Mis is open to students who have finished 9th grade through 12th.  Auditions for this production will be June 6, rehearsals will begin on June 13, and performances will be July 22-24 at the Hardy Performing Arts Center.
