Rum River Pool League team advances to Nationals

The DILLIGAF team out of the Rum River Pool League put together a great weekend of shooting at the March 17-20 State tournament, winning the Class C State championship.

DILLIGAF shoots for Hidden Haven in the Rum River league. Making up the squad are Rick Gelle, Rick Gelle Jr., Cory Schuh, Nick Mayer and Mark Peterson. The State title won at Treasure Island Casino qualifies the team for the national gathering which will be hosted in Las Vegas.

Rum River Pool League is a local traveling handicapped League open to men and women. The league runs along the Hwy. 65 corridor, encompassing teams from northern Anoka and southern Isanti counties during the winter months. National sanctioning is through the American Cue Sports Alliance (ACS). Minnesota sanctioning is through  Minnesota State American Cue Sports (MNACS) and Midwest Pool Players Association (MPA)  which are a non-profit sanctioning leagues.

The Rum River league will host an open tournament for all local players (no Masters or ‘AA’ players, please) this Friday, April 1 at Captain’s on Long Lake. Tournament sign-up is from 6 – 6:45 p.m. with a 7 p.m. start. $20 entry fee/$10 green fee included.

The league’s end-of-year banquet will then be held at Captain’s on Long Lake April 2. Included is a league-only singles tournament, with $500 added to the prize fund.
